About Best of Enemies

1968 – a year of protest that divided America. As two men fight to become the next President, all eyes are on the battle between two others: the cunningly conservative William F. Buckley Jr., and the iconoclastic liberal Gore Vidal.

Beliefs are challenged and slurs slung as these political idols feud nightly in a new television format, debating the moral landscape of a shattered nation. Little do they know they're about to open up a new frontier in American politics, and transform television news forever…

See it if you like clever writing and good acting and/or you fancy seeing a play about American politics of the 1960s.

Don’t see it if your lack of interest in mid-century American politics cannot be overcome by a well-written well-acted play.

See it if you enjoy political shows with very intense dialogue and at times difficult to follow themes and threads- interesting and engaging.

Don’t see it if you don’t want to engage with politics, or you can’t look past a few pretty suspect accents.

See it if you love a good political play based on real events and starring exceptional actors. The entire cast was fantastic.

Don’t see it if you hate political subjects.

Resonant, Thought-provoking, Absorbing

See it if you enjoy detailed stage plays on specific historic events that remind us how history constantly repeats itself....

Don’t see it if you have an aversion to US history ...or to casting a black man to play the original whiter than white "conservative" racist.
